In this paper, a circular slot loaded circular monopole antenna for ultrawideband circularly polarized applications is presented. The antenna consists of a circular radiator fed by a modified feedline and multiple slots loaded modified coplanar waveguide (CPW) ground plane. The ground plane is also loaded with quarter elliptical slot and semicircular stub to achieve circular polarization. The overall dimensions of the proposed antenna are 17×20 mm2. The antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 4.41-14.0 GHz (104.2%) and axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) of 5.87-13.66 GHz (79.77%). It has a peak gain of 5.34 dBi. The proposed antenna provides right hand circularly polarized (RHCP) radiation patterns along +z axis. It has advantages of compact dimensions, wide impedance bandwidth and wide axial ratio bandwidth over previously reported structures.

A compact Ultra-WideBand (UWB) slot antenna is presented in this paper. The slot is modified rectangular in shape and asymmetrically cut in the ground plane. A hexagonal patch with two stepped CoPlanar Waveguide (CPW) feed is used to excite the slot. Wider impedance bandwidth is achieved due to the extra inductive reactance created by the asymmetric slot which neutralizes the capacitive reactance of the hexagonal patch. The measured impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 11.85 GHz (2.9–14.75 GHz). The radiation patterns of the proposed antenna are obtained and found to be omni-directional in H-plane and bi-directional in E-plane.

This paper presents a new switched beam antenna array working at 26GHz for future 5G application, based on the sub-arrays containing an association of various shaped slot (L, U, S) engraved in Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW). The phase shift between each slot is obtained by adjusting the position of transversal slots. The beam tilt is obtained by choosing the adequate slots combination. Finally SPDT switches can be used to control the antenna beam in 8 different directions between -46° and 46° in the same plane or to combine different sub-arrays to carry out multi-beams antenna array. Results of simulations (CST Microwave) are given and validate the proposed solution.
